Short analysis: The Intimacy of NaLu

After taking a look to how a NaLu fan defended this premise from a wanker/hater, and seeing how several shippers still try to continue in their hypocrisy pretending to be supportive of a relationship that contradicts their preference, I wanted to make a contribution to that defense of NaLu.

However, the bit I wrote about context and chemistry included many points I could’ve used for this post. So, to avoid repeating over and over the same arguments, we’ll focus on something else…

One Fairy Tail fan pointed out how Lucy tends to be more open and expressive when it comes to Natsu than she usually is with other male characters. When taking a close look to their interactions, some may realize the manga supports that statement

Their moments, doesn’t matter if big and impacful or minor but meaningful, convey a sense of intimacy and playfulness unique to their bond…

Such traits are not limited to the manga. The author doesn’t shy away from providing with additional works that carry a similar aura…

…with some throwing subtlety out of the window

This remarkable degree of closeness and intimacy is the result of the chemistry these characters built through the series. Making it short, their emotional connection grew stronger thanks the moments and experiences they shared, which resulted in an emotional attachment that can be seen from both sides…

Some dishonest individuals work with the assumption that NaLu is all about posing in the same shot or cute fanarts/linearts. But what makes NaLu a potent relationship is a consistent bonding throughout the series that’s not limited to a single arc or a few instances of pandering.

While they’re not technically canon, their chemistry and their emotional connection stands out from the rest. Their relationship requires little to nothing to become something even deeper and stronger.

A relationship that grows naturally is capable of showcasing that kind of intimacy born out of chemistry and emotional support, elements that NaLu has in spades.
